SACRAMENTO, CA – On March 8, 2026, at the AFSCME PEOPLE California Convention, the delegate body delivered a powerful action of support for the future of California public transit.FINAL DESTINATION — A group of transit unions, operators, and advocates calling itself Bay Area Forward is launching a last-ditch pressure campaign to rework a 2026 ballot measure designed to help rescue the Bay Area’s struggling transit operators, Playbook has learned exclusively.Public approval of labor unions is at its highest level in 17 years, with nearly two out of three Americans (65%) expressing support of unions, according to the latest Gallup poll.
